Hi,
I am getting ready to release a few products on eBay using CDRom and DVDs, and using eBay Classifieds to comply with the new eBay requirements for selling digital products. So, I was doing some research, reading some blogs, etc.
There were a lot of people remarking that they were just going to give up trying to sell digital products because of this change at eBay. Well, I have been online for 12 years and have been very challenged by my physical limitations and I haven’t given up yet so - here’s a couple of thoughts on adjusting your thoughts from quitting to adapting…
Using eBay Classifieds for $9/mo. for Each Ad:
If you sell $5 ebooks (For example) you only need 2 sales to make a profit using the Ebay classifieds right? So if you write a kick-@ss ad won’t you be in a position to make possibly more money than the previous download sales since the Ebay and PayPal fees ate up any profit from selling the digital products? (I know you may have been just building your list.)
Changing to Physical Products and Continuing to Sell in eBay Auctions:
Also, sell the ebooks, software, videos, etc. on CDs or DVDs and on the “index” page of the disk where you list all the items on the disk add a link to your web site, or a sign up form to your list for a bonus or freebie. Just add a note that they have to be online to submit the form and get their goodies. Then, make money on back-end sales or affiliate recommendations.
Add banners to your index page (Opening screen) on the disk and sell the banner space. Just make sure your disk will autorun so they see the screen you want them to see first. Of, course, don’t go crazy with this. A couple of your best recommended products (You can be the buyer by adding your affiliate banners) will do here.
Put your links and URLs on the CD/DVD jewel case covers and always on the disk itself… every time your customer gets out the disk your online information is right there in front of their eyes!
Add coupons on a physical paper/receipt in your disk shipment for money off your download-able products with a link to the sales page as a thank you. Use a coupon script to get the email and names / give a code to enter into your sales page to give the discount…
Hmmm. on second thought, add a whole COUPON PAGE to your physical delivery and sell space on the page!
Haven’t you ever bought something from a catalog? They add all kinds of little add-on sales items - you know those flowbees, birdhouses, slippers, jewelry little slick pages in the envelope? Why shouldn’t you? How many times have you saved one of those or even ordered something from one of them?
It’s OK I won’t tell you bought that patchwork purse or the unicorn statue!
They also add catalogs and even bonus gifts. So add a bonus - I do even in with my videos game sales envelopes I add a web master CD!
Check my eBay ratings… 100% positive… hmmm I wonder why?
Can you still add a link on your Ebay about me page? Still use that if so…
That’s all just off the top of my head
